Louise Meuwissen is a Melbourne based multi-disciplinary artist. Her work seeks to explores perception and the ways in which visual & environmental stimuli have ability to influence cognitive function; namely relating to individual & collective engagement with environments. Typically incorporating found and recycled materials, craft practices, and psychedelic imagery, she creates immersive works that focus upon looking at the overlooked and the relationship between beauty and the grotesque. Meuwissen's practice primarily involves working in painting, embroidery and installation. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Art (Painting), at The Victorian College of the Arts in 2013.
